What You Will Do:

​

The Buyer is responsible for managing the timely inbound flow of materials and components to support new product launch readiness. You will work closely with QPO’s engineering and Project management teams and will be providing direction on preferred suppliers, submit RFQs, analyze supplier bids, grant awards & place PO’s that are in alignment with program budget. You must be a highly organized individual who is proactive and continuously drives for results.

Job Description

​

Coordination on all programs in Tualatin / Sherwood, OR and Endicott, NY. Will require managing and tracking multiple newly launching products simultaneously on tactical and strategic tasks.

· Facilitate and carry out all sourcing activity; create, conduct and close RFQ / RFP Packages

· Manage deliveries of purchase orders, communicate clear to build status to program team

. Work with suppliers to ensure any deviations and technical issues are captured, agreed with stake holders

· Ensure the technical issues are escalated and mitigated with stakeholder support.

· Work with suppliers to resolve issues impacting, but no limited to, performance, quality, invoice discrepancies and drive corrective actions where needed

· Work closely with Engineering to ensure design evolutions are in alignment with manufacturing lead-times

· Work with internal team to negotiate prices, terms, conditions and agreements

· Ensure MRP is updated with the correct purchased part planning parameters

· Provide senior management with a periodical update on program status and risks upon requirement

· Risk Analysis – Identification and resolution of supply issues in order to meet business commitments

· Strong supplier relationship management, developing a competent network of capable suppliers and partners to support a dynamic, agile and lean environment

Complementary Description:

​

· Challenge, negotiate, secure and report fulfilment of program targets in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD)

· Ensure that the suppliers are able to meet quality requirements and where needed, facilitate negotiations between Engineering and Supplier

· To secure parts in line with program schedule

· Initiate long term agreement negotiations with suppliers, ensuring that development and supply agreements are structured in line with program objectives

· To report and present at program reviews

Job Requirements

​

· Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing/sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment.

· Proven experience in liaising with customers or suppliers; with a background of negotiation

· Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding, transaction experience, and cost breakdown

· Strong interpersonal skills – ability to work with individuals across a range of functions and varying seniority

· High motivation to learn, develop and perform in a fast-paced environment

· Attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities simultaneously

· Experience with metric creations and data presentations, with strong written and verbal communication skills

· Bias for action: Decisive and takes the initiative

· Experience with improving processes

· Must be able to plan outside of an ERP/MRP system when appropriate.

· Good PC skills, confident with use of MRP systems and Microsoft office (Excel & PowerPoint)

Accountability

​

This position is under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and must meet export control compliance requirements. Please refer terms defined by Title 22 of Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) §120.15 as needed.
